OUR DYES.

All of our dyes are Organic certified and have been sown, planted, picked and packaged by the hands of staff and trainees here at the farm in South Devon. Our trainees are people in need of additional support when entering the work environment, and therefore gain therapy, training and employment pathways through PIGMENT. Our planting, harvesting and processing methods consider the land and the ecology of the plants and insects around us.

The dyes are for use on both cellulose (cotton, linen, etc.) and protein (wool, silk, etc.) fibres, and can also be used for bundle dyeing, eco printing or ink making.

The fabrics we sell here are Organic certified and are from sustainable sources in Europe, certified to GOTS standards. They have been scoured, meaning boiled with ecological soft soap, which removes impurities such as oils and dirt from methods of production. They have also been mordanted using English Oak Galls, Aluminium Sulphate or Organic soya milk, then dyed using our plant dyes, and colour fixed to ensure colour fastness.
