Organic Bundle Dye Kit

£50.00
sold out

Bundle dyeing is a therapeutic technique, allowing you to create your own repeat patterns from directly transferring the colour of each plant to fabric. Add natural, Organic, chemical-free colour to a metre of Organic, GOTS-certified Cotton.

A gentle, easy and fun project on your journey to natural colour! The perfect gift too.

No need to scour (deeply clean) or mordant (add a type-of ‘glue’), we have prepared the fabric for you. Simply sprinkle the mixed dye plants on to the fabric in your chosen pattern, bundle it up and steam it over a hot pan of water. It couldn’t be more simple.

The bundle dye process involves a rolling technique, capturing the plant material tightly into the fabric, then binding and steaming for the final result. It is a highly sensory endeavour, sprinkling your chosen plants on to the fabric in your chosen design, then shaking them off into the compost once complete. A great introductory natural dyeing kit.

This kit contains a beautiful selection of our Organically grown dye plants. Our farming systems mean that we improve the soil we work on, and help people with additional needs to reach employment through training and work support on-site.

The kit contains:

  • 100g of our mixed Organic dye plants

  • 1m of prepared (scoured and mordanted) Organic, GOTS-certified, medium-weight Cotton, 150cm wide

  • Natural jute string for binding your bundle

  • Detailed Instructions

These packs are hand packed by us and our trainees in cardboard boxes, compostable paper packaging and sealed with compostable labels.

You can also add your own fresh dye plants to these kits from your garden!
