The classic cottage garden flower, Hollyhocks look fantastic at the back of a sunny border with stems up to 2m. It’s a short-lived perrenial and a great choice for pollinators and will self-seed readily. Makes a gorgeous blue dye.

When to sow: August - October

Spacing: 30 x 30cm

Summary: Hollyhock is a biennial plant, so will flower best in the second year. Sow into trays and prick out into 9cm pots for storage over winter. Plant out in Spring once chance of frost has passed.
