This amazing dye plant is not grown for its flowers, but its roots! It’s best planted in its own dedicated bed so that you can harvest the roots easily later on. it is a herbaceous perennial plant, meaning the foliage will die back over winter and roots stay alive. Ideally, this dye plant is harvest 4 years after seed sowing - when roots have reached a pencil-thick size. The dye produces amazing red and pinks.
